Motivational Interviewing for Peer Professionals

Description

This 7‑hour training offers an in‑depth introduction to Motivational Interviewing (MI), a collaborative, recovery‑oriented communication approach that strengthens motivation for change while honoring personal autonomy. Grounded in peer support values and lived‑experience leadership, the curriculum emphasizes skill development, self‑reflection, and real‑world application.

Participants will leave with practical tools they can immediately use in peer support settings to reduce resistance, evoke self‑identified motivation, and support self‑determination.
