Description

In this course, learners will learn the basics of youth advocacy and mentoring. Topics covered include stigma, advocacy, communication, conflict resolution, resiliency, mentoring skills, being an effective role model, motivational interviewing, and wellness planning. Learn how to recognize the signs that someone needs your advocacy and steps for creating an advocacy plan. While the content of this course lends itself to the adult mentoring a youth client. The concepts in this course are also applicable to advocating for and mentoring other adults. The course materials are also suitable for individuals wanting to learn concepts to create their own self-advocacy plan. This course is suitable for ages 16 and older.
