A program designed to train healthcare professionals and non-clinical staff across the healthcare spectrum. It is a collaboration of Orlando Health, Moffitt Center and United Way of Broward County with funding provided by Florida Blue Foundation, presented by Peer Support Coalition of Florida.
Not everyone has equitable access to their full health potential. This causes inequities in the way people receive health treatment. The healthcare we receive, genetics, behavioral factors and social factors all predict our health potential. The goal of this training is to leverage health providers' understanding of health equity and to support them in implementing health equity-oriented actions in the workplace to minimize health disparities in the communities they serve.
In this program, you will explore the following:
Quality of care for diverse patients/persons served.
Social Determinants of Health and their impact on health disparities.
How to increase patients/persons served satisfaction, improve treatment adherence, increase communication, and decrease mistrust.
The program runs for 6 weeks for a total of 10 credit hours with the following structure:
Initial Zoom session - Launch Day - 2.5 hours
Six weekly web-based, self-paced modules along with an activity - 1.5 hours per week
Final Zoom session - Landing Day 2.5 hours
The course provides 10 CEUs.
